Student led conference
How did it go?
My conference went good because the year has only just started and I have a new teacher that my mum doesn't really know and thanks to the conference she does we talked about my learning and who I worked good with and not so good with and if i'm good and maths, and not reading but good at writing or good at reading and good at maths but not writing and it turns out that i was better at reading and writing then maths.
What was it like having them in class?
It was good having my mum is class because she learnt stuff about me when I'm at school and how I learn and about my friends in class and the people I work good with and the people I don't work good with. I felt different when my mum was in class with me because I talk and play around with my friends but if I did that when my mum was around she would tell me to get on with what I am supposed to be doing.
What did they like about the process?
My mum liked that me and my teacher we organise for everything and that my teacher talked about things my mum didn't know about me before and that she nows what stage i'm in for my reading writing and maths.
What did you like?
I liked that my mum now knows what stages I am in for my reading writing and maths and that my conference was last so I had more time to talk to my mum and teacher about my learning.
What would you/they like to do differently next time?
I wouldn't like anything to change.

Today we have swimming sports everyone has to be in there full school uniform before they leave school grounds. All of rimu meets outside the hall and we start walking to memorial park. We walk across the road I felt like a balloon full of air waiting to pop and I can’t wait till we get there. We have to walk down in pears my pear was neve we were the leaders for our class. Zoe and Sheridan were walking behind us and we all decided to start singing.
We arrive at the pools we walk in and get changed into our togs and sit on the stands outside. We sit there waiting for the teachers to call the first race. “Year 7 girls please go and line up behind the cones” Mr mossop said “Year 7 boys please go line up” Mr mossop said “Year 8 girls please line up” Mr mossop said I walk over to the cones with my friends Mr mossop puts us in even lines we move up to the diving board “On your marks get set go” Mr mossop shouted I dive into the water like a dolphin. I come up to the serfass and gasp for air. I move my arms like a win meal in and out of the water my hand hits the end of the pool. I finished but didn’t come anything. I hop out of the pool breathing in and out like it was my last breath. I walk over to Miss mills and give her my name and room number and then go to sit down on the stands.
